Maria Lopez-Beecham, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist dedicated to serving the unique health needs of women at OB/GYN Associates of Miami in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Lopez-Beecham began her professional pursuits at Florida State University in Tallahassee where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following graduation, she enrolled at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville where she earned her Doctor of Medicine.
She subsequently completed her internship in obstetrics and gynecology at the University Hospital of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and her residency at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in Providence, an extension of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
During the course of her career, Dr. Lopez-Beecham has served as a staff obstetrician and gynecologist at a number of hospitals and as a partner in a private practice group. She is currently the Director of the Patient Safety Simulation Lab at Baptist Health South Florida.
Dr. Lopez-Beecham proudly holds board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Additionally, she is a member of the National Patient Safety Foundation, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety, as well as the Florida Medical Association and the Florida OB/GYN Society.
As an OB/GYN, Dr. Lopez-Beecham loves getting to know each woman in her care. She sets aside time to understand their unique concerns, health challenges, and goals, and works with them to achieve an improved quality of life.
When Dr. Lopez-Beecham isn’t meeting with patients and developing custom care plans, you can find her sharing her knowledge and expertise as a clinical assistant professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine of Florida International University in Miami.
