Ilya Johnson, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who brings more than three decades of experience to OB/GYN Associates of Miami, serving women who live in and around Miami, Florida, and throughout Miami-Dade County.
Dr. Johnson launched her career at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury in Old Westbury, New York, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She subsequently moved south and enrolled at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine.
Before entering private practice and pursuing a career in women’s health, Dr. Johnson returned to the northeast and completed a residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
Dr. Johnson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her research has been published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and in 1995 she earned the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
As an OB/GYN, Dr. Johnson provides compassionate care in a warm and welcoming environment. She spends one-on-one time with each patient to understand their unique symptoms and needs, and develops custom treatment plans to improve their health and vitality.
Outside the office, Dr. Johnson enjoys staying physically active. She regularly cycles through the Everglades and loves to ski during the winter months. Dr. Johnson also regularly supports community causes including the Miami Rescue Mission, Camillus House, and local radio station, WRFN. She also supports a Junior Olympics track athlete from Miami.
